President Uhuru Kenyatta and Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn will take over the commission implementing the Special Status Agreement signed in 2012. In 2012, Ethiopia exported $4 million (Sh405 million) worth of goods to Kenya, while Kenya exported $54 million (Sh5.4 billion) to Ethiopia. Uhuru and Desalegn will also attend a Kenya-Ethiopia Business Forum in which business leaders will seek to strengthen business-to-business relations. Esipisu said that in preparation for the state visit, senior officials from Kenya and Ethiopia met in Nairobi since last week. Ethiopia wants to boost trade with Kenya as currently it is skewed towards Kenya.
