President William Ruto on Wednesday appointed former Nation Media and Standard Group journalist Munyori Buku as the new Head of the Presidential Communications Service. Before this appointment, he served as the Secretary for Public Communications at State House. Other notable roles Buku served previously include; Senior Director of Public Communications at State House, Director of Communications in the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Ministry of Finance, and Editorial Manager at the Kenya Yearbook Editorial Board. In the private sector, Buku held key editorial positions, including Managing Editor at the Standard Group and Sub-Editor at the Nation Media Group, among other senior roles. In 2013, he was appointed as the Senior Director of Public Communications at the Office of The President where he served for seven years before resigning in 2022.
