He described the comments by the president as careless and an affront to democracy when he as the Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces should have known better. He questioned why the president would drag him into the issue when he had no direct and indirect involvement. “Due process was followed in suspending some executives of the party when the flagbearer was not in country”, he said. “We are looking for a leader who can unite Ghana and not a leader who will divide Ghana, if you can’t unite your own party, how do you unite a nation,”
