The day is also being observed as National Children’s Day by educational institutions across the country. Hasina welcomed President Hamid after he reached Tungipara on Sunday morning. Hasina will join a cultural event at the Bangabandhu Mausoleum Complex in Tungipara to mark the birth anniversary and National Children’s day. Bangabandhu was born on this day in Tungipara in Gopalganj in 1920. He led Bangladesh’s struggle for independence and subsequently became the first president of the independent nation.
