MONROVIA — President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., departed Monrovia on Thursday, February 12, 2026, leading a high-level Liberian delegation to the 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union. The summit officially convenes at the Nelson Mandela Hall within the Addis International Convention Center, following a state dinner hosted by Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed. President Boakai is accompanied on this mission by an influential delegation that includes First Lady Mrs. Kartuma Y. Boakai, Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti, and Minister of State Without Portfolio Mamaka Bility. Oswald N. Tweh will chair the Cabinet in consultation with the Vice President, maintaining regular communication with President Boakai via telephone.
