Government to improve internet accessibility to facilitate studentsISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has ordered authorities to improve internet accessibility for students in the country. He directed the relevant quarters to take necessary measures to enhance internet connectivity so that students could continue their education uninterrupted. In addition to this, he instructed agencies to improve internet coverage in areas that currently lack the facility. He was briefed on the issues faced by Internet users, particularly students, due to pressure on existing internet infrastructure, as people have started working from home and students are taking classes online due to the coronavirus pandemic. Internet usage in Pakistan has increased by 15 per cent as the country adjusts to life under lockdown amid the coronavirus outbreak.
