President Abdul Hamid for training farmers to cope with climate change


The call came during the Fifth National Convention of Bangladesh Krishibid Institution and International Conference on Agriculture held in the capital on Thursday. The president stressed on this 'major challenge' for agriculturists -- to effectively cope with the changing climate alongside ensuring food security for a large population. Establishment of agriculture-friendly industry was a must for multidimensional development in agriculture, the president said. “They (farmers) need to become efficient in using information and technology for coping with climate change. There is no alternative to diversified marketing,” the president stated.Hamid highlighted different government initiatives for the betterment of agriculture.“Bangladesh used to suffer from food shortage.
