President’s Office to get policy support from the Bill & Melinda Gates FoundationNewsThe Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, has decided to create a Program Support Unit to assist the Office of the President of Sri Lanka. Hence, Global Health Strategies and Connect to Care Organization have partnered to establish a Program Support Unit to assist the President's Office and Sri Lanka's Government in programmes related to health. An Executive Committee of senior officials will be appointed to ensure smooth operations of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s programmes. On Monday (29), the Cabinet of Ministers approved measures to provide policy support to the Presidential Secretariat, following President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s concerns. For this purpose, the President’s Office maintains coordination with a number of multi-stakeholder organizations including International Monetary Fund’s Comprehensive Funding Facility, World Bank’s Development Policy Operational Program, Asian Development Bank’s Policy Assistance Programs, etc.
