The Presidency on Sunday defended the controversial initiative to create Fulani herders settlements known as Ruga around the country, saying that it is to put an end to the insecurity arising from farmers-herders clashes. The statement read: “The Presidency wishes to draw attention to recent unhelpful comments regarding the plan to stop roaming of cattle herders with the attendant clashes with farmers.
