Presi drops subject cut-off


The board has been holding admission test for Presidency since 2015. At a meeting of the admission committee of the university on December 14, all but two departmental heads had proposed that the system of having a subject cut-off for admission to undergraduate courses be abolished. The heads of the English and history departments wanted to retain a cut-off to ensure that those writing the admission test had a knack for the subjects. The subject cut-off for history aspirants was 65 per cent. VC Lohia, however, told Metro: "Statistically, it has been proven that students who feature in the top category in the plus-II board results get admitted to Presidency.
