Care worker Carla Conduct's home was ravaged by fire following an explosion in an upstairs children's bedroom caused by a suspected gas leak. But, the mum-of-three, 35, says she owes her life to the ITV soap because if she hadn't been downstairs watching it she "wouldn't be here". Ms Conduct said: "'I was in the front room watching Emmerdale when it happened. Photographs show the destruction caused by the blaze which Ms Conduct said has caused huge damage. There's been money raised from people I don't even know, people have dropped off toothbrushes, clothes, all sorts - it's amazing."
