Prefers Local Manufacturers, Suppliers For Rooppur NPP EB Report/BSSRussian State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM is preferring local manufacturers and suppliers for construction of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP) at Paksey in Pabna district. “We prefer Bangladeshi manufacturers and suppliers to be involved in the construction of the RNPP except the technical equipment,” Director purchasing, procurement and quality of Atomstroyexport, a subsidiary of ROSATOM, Alexander Shmigelskiy told BSS on Monday. “The main purpose of the conference is to inform Bangladeshi companies about possibilities of their participation in the Rooppur NPP project”, he added. The agenda included design requirements during construction of the facility, tendering procedures and supply terms, logistics and equipment manufacture quality assurance. Some manufacturers and suppliers took part in the conference and expressed their keen interest to supply materials for Bangladesh’s first nuclear power plant.
