Dr Ganesh Panhale, a dentist of Latur city, said urban water supply has not witnessed any improvement so far. "It was among the 50 projects initiated by the Art Of Living Foundation in Latur district," Mahadev Gomare, a farmer, said. Four of Marathwada's worst drought-hit districts — Latur, Osmanabad, Beed, Nanded — have received more rain since June 1 this year compared to the corresponding period last year. "The weather systems are not that favourable for monsoon over parched areas of Marathwada," he said. Gomare said a 4.5 km stretch near the Terna river barrage in Aurad Shahajani in Nilanga taluka was taken up for de-silting.
