A prank call about someone being shot and badly injured led to multiple schools in Taupō going into lockdown. Emergency services were called at 12.50pm on Thursday after being told a person had been shot and was badly injured, a police spokeswoman said. She said schools in the area did go into lockdown for a time and police have since made reassurance visits to those schools.
