Former MP Prakash Ambedkar said police restrained him from visiting the Kopardi village in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra on Thursday, where a 15-year-old girl was brutally gang-raped and murdered a few days ago. Prakash Ambedkar said some people in the village had decided to throw eggs and tomatoes on him. Superintendent of Police, Ahmednagar, Saurabh Tripathi said police asked Ambedkar to return as the situation in the village was "tense". He would visit the victim's family after the situation becomes normal, Ambedkar said. "He complied with our notice and decided not to visit the village," the SP said.
