A powerful tornado hit Missouri’s capital late Wednesday, ravaging a three-square-mile area of Jefferson City, and three people were killed in a separate weather-related incident in the state’s southwest, as dangerous storms continued to wreak havoc across the Great Plains this week. The Jefferson City tornado trapped many people in their homes and sent at least 20 people to the hospital, officials said.
