AMD revealed many of the details regarding its Zen+ processor architecture all the way back in January during the Consumer Electronics Show. The first wave of 2nd Generation AMD Ryzen 2000 series processors arrived a few weeks ago and proved to be extremely strong products at their respective price points. HotHardwareAMD used the same 8-core (16-thread) die across its entire family of first generation Ryzen processors, including the many-core Threadripper (High End Desktop) and enterprise-class EPYC processors – Threadripper and EPYC simply featured additional dies, linked together via AMD’s Infinity Fabric. Turns out, AMD has already named some new 2nd Generation Threadripper parts, along with some mainstream desktop CPUs and APUs, and has listed them in its master product list, which is available on the company’s webpage. The Ryzen Threadripper 2900X, 2920X, and 2950X, however, will likely feature higher clocks, and offer all of the other inherent benefits of Zen+.
