A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokeswoman said a crew from St Andrews responded about 3.15pm on Tuesday to an incident on Blue Cliffs Rd. ”A power pole was on fire, there was a small patch of fire on the ground, and we stood by and waited for contactors to arrive,” she said. Alpine Energy reported power outages in Bluecliffs, Lyalldale, and St Andrews at 3.15pm.
