The New Zealand Transport Agency reported both lanes were blocked on Great North Rd between Eglinton​ St and Dejoux Rd in the town and a detour was in place. Earlier, drivers were going through a truck stop to get around the power lines, a police spokesman said. The outages began at 4.15pm and were estimated to be restored at 7pm.
