Power lines are down across Manutahi Rd, after a car crashed into a power power about 8.15am on Saturday. A person has been taken to hospital with moderate injuries after crashing into a power pole, north of New Plymouth. Emergency services were called to the scene, on Manutahi Rd, Lepperton, about 8.15am Saturday. A police spokeswoman said power lines had been brought down across the road as a result of the crash. Power contractors were called to turn the power off in the area so emergency service staff could reach the person and assess their injuries.
