Photo: Yvonne O'HaraTaieri-based Highland Helicopters took its new camera for a spin recently, inspecting 83km of overhead power lines and infrastructure from Ettrick to Roxburgh for Aurora Energy on March 24. It includes a high resolution thermal HD infrared camera, a ultra-violet corona detection camera, an HD video camera and a 45.7 megapixel still digital camera. The Bell 206L1 LongRanger helicopter, piloted by Mr Williams, would continue the survey to Alexandra. She said the camera had huge potential for firefighting, search and rescue, pest control, civil emergencies and police enforcement. Aurora spokeswoman Karin Melville said the survey would provide the basis for planning future maintenance or replacements in Aurora Energy's asset management plan.
