BC Hydro says power has been restored to more than 55,000 homes in the Lower Mainland Wednesday afternoon — most of them in the Fraser Valley. Update: crews have now restored power to over 50,000 in the eastern #FraserValley area. https://t.co/nmAU6qFW5n — @bchydroAn estimated 40,000 customers were left in the dark in Abbotsford and Chilliwack, and others affected were in Delta, Langley and Surrey. BC Hydro's website says a "transmission circuit failure" was responsible for the massive power outage. It says the power outage started shortly after 1:30 p.m. PT.
