Photo: Video ScreenshotSANGSAD BHABAN, April 2, 2026 (BSS)- Country’s total power generation capacity is now 32,332 megawatts (MW), of which grid-based power generation capacity stands at 28,919 MW. Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Iqbal Hassan Mahmood said this in the parliament today. The minister said the government has taken a series of steps to increase power generation in line with growing demand and to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply. Iqbal said the power sector has been given the highest priority, with measures taken to diversify fuel sources for power generation and ensure the supply of primary fuel.
