Power cut hits 1400 properties in LytteltonKIRK HARGREAVES/FAIRFAX NZ A power outage has hit more than 1600 properties around Lyttelton. Power is out to more than 1400 properties in Lyttelton and may not be restored until tonight. The outage occurred at 3.18am on overhead lines in the hills above the port town. Affected communities are Cass Bay, Corsair Bay, Governors Bay, Lyttelton, Pigeon Bay and Rapaki. "Getting the power back on to businesses and residents in the Lyttelton area in a safe and timely manner is our key priority," chief executive Rob Jamieson said.
