Power Drive: How women are growing golf in Canada to never-before-seen levels

Andy Pazder, the tour’s chief tournaments and competitions officer, was there, along with Laurence Applebaum, the just-about-to-be-named chief executive officer of Golf Canada. There is, however, a growing number of women in power positions in golf in Canada. The president of Nova Scotia Golf, British Columbia Golf, Golf New Brunswick, the PEI Golf Association, and Golf Newfoundland-Labrador are all women, while the vice-presidents for Ontario and Quebec’s golf associations are also women (and will take over as presidents next year). Women are in senior executive positions at Golf Canada, the National Golf Course Owners Association, the Canadian Society of Club Managers, and the Canadian Golf Superintendents Association. Women also hold senior leadership positions at the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame, the RBC Canadian Open, the PGA of Canada, the Golf Canada Foundation, Adidas Golf Canada, and Wasserman Canada (the agency of record for the two national championships).
