The Delhi government announced its Summer Action Plan for power supply arrangements for the national Capital on Thursday. The government has projected the peak demand of Delhi at a whopping 7,000 MW during the summer season this year. “As per the projections, the peak demand in Delhi is expected to reach 7,000 MW during the coming summer,” Delhi Power Minister Satyender Jain said. He said the power department ensured over 99 percent power supply during peak summer months in 2017, adding that the target was to improve on this figure in 2018. The national capital witnessed its lowest-ever power cuts in the current financial year that also saw the highest ever peak power demand, according to a Delhi government data.
