Potential Canada Post strike or lockout stirs mixed feelings in Winnipeg

The days of Canada Post are far from over for seniors living at Lion's Place in Winnipeg, resident Gerald Brown said. A strike vote earlier this week had 98 per cent of urban postal workers in Winnipeg voting in favour of a strike mandate. The looming threat of a Canada Post lockout or strike means workers could be off the job as early as Sunday, and folks in Winnipeg have mixed views of how it would affect them. Canada Post could lock CUPW workers out before that date. Nationally, the sentiment has been much the same, with 94 per cent of urban postal workers and 91 per cent of rural units voting in favour of a strike.
