Postmortems are being conducted today on the remains of the young boy and the man who were killed in a plane crash in Co Offaly on Sunday. The seven-year-old boy and the plane’s pilot, who was in his 40s and from the UK, died when the plane crashed not long after 16 parachutists jumped. The aircraft, a Cessna Caravan plane, left the Irish Parachute Club’s airfield in Clonbullogue near Edenderry on Sunday at around 2.25pm. Meanwhile, the Irish Parachute Club, which has between 150 and 200 members, remained closed today. “The parachute club would be well known, they are in this area 20 years,” he said.
