Postmedia staff and projects were Thursday honoured with nominations in five categories at the 2019 Digital Publishing Awards, run by the National Media Awards Foundation. The awards promote unique achievements by writers, editors, designers, producers and others who have stood out in the field of digital publishing in Canada. Lines of Fire, a multi-part look at gun culture in Saskatchewan, saw teams at the Saskatoon StarPhoenix and Regina Leader-Post nominated in the Best Digital Editorial Package category. The same project also saw Schwartz and the National Post’s Brice Hall and Julie Traves nominated for Best News Coverage. Erin Valois, Postmedia’s national director, digital editorial operations, has been nominated for an Emerging Excellence Award.
