Two persons died and 17 others, including 15 policemen, were injured during the eviction drive at Banderdubi village. Rupam Goswami, state BJP spokesperson, said the government was only abiding by the order of the high court by carrying out the eviction drive in Kaziranga. There were reports that bandh supporters threw stones at a few buses in some parts of Nagaon and Morigaon districts. In Guwahati, 11 parties, under the banner of the Left-Democratic Manch, Assam, today staged a demonstration demanding a judicial enquiry into the Kaziranga eviction.
