Post election blues gone as investment and consumer confidence jumpsSUPPLIED People have become more upbeat about the economy according to latest confidence surveys. While Queenstown and Tauranga commercial investors were most confident, Hamilton overtook Auckland and Wellington for the third spot. Overall commercial net confidence increased to 25 per cent, the highest score since December 2016, based on recorded responses from 2212 people. Residential confidence largely matched the commercial sector with Christchurch the only region recording a negative 2 per cent, while overall confidence was net positive 28 per cent. Expectations of house price increases were strongest in Queenstown, Tauranga, with Wellington taking top score at net 38 per cent confidence.
