The head of the U.S. Postal Service floated a new proposal to shore up the agency’s finances: deliver mail five days a week while expanding package delivery to seven. Postmaster General Megan Brennan said Tuesday at a congressional hearing that such a schedule was one of the options the agency’s board of governors is examining as part of a business plan they intend to submit to Congress in the coming weeks to help stem billions of dollars in annual losses.
