There was a pretty thorough article over at Vulture last week concerning the long-term future of Warner Bros./Time Warner Inc.'s DC Films. I would argue that DC Films will go forward being about as connected as the MCU. You didn’t need to see Iron Man 2 to enjoy Thor and you didn’t have to see Incredible Hulk to watch Captain America. It wasn’t until October 2014, 6.5 years after Iron Man, that Marvel laid their cards on the table for their bigger picture. By default, the DC Films universe has been one long story.
