Possible tornado spotted in southeastern Alberta


Multiple emergency alerts were issued Saturday afternoon as a possible tornado swept through southeastern Alberta. Earlier alerts were issued for tornado sightings east of High River and near the hamlet of Blackie. Environment Canada said alongside the tornado, damaging winds, large hail and intense rainfall are also possible in the area. The tornado sightings blew in alongside severe thunderstorms, which triggered watches and warnings for much of southern Alberta, including Calgary, Cochrane and Airdrie. Environment Canada also issued severe thunderstorm warnings for the communities of:OyenHannaCoronationThose in the area are instructed to take cover immediately should threatening weather approach.
