Possible tornado causes destruction near Windsor, Ont.


Multiple reports of a possible tornado touching down in southwestern Ontario flooded social media as a wild storm passed through Wednesday evening. Environment Canada says an eyewitness saw the tornado near LaSalle, a bedroom community of Windsor, at 7:10 p.m. local time. Windsor police are warning residents to avoid the Deziel Drive area because of damage. They are also reporting that hydro poles were knocked down in the city and there were some live wires as a result. Tom Greer, a resident of LaSalle, Ont., said he was on his back porch with his girlfriend watching the storm when he saw funnel clouds forming in the distance.
