Port Taranaki provides support to foodbanks


New Plymouth Community Foodbank manager Sharon Wills, left, Waitara Foodbank – Kai Potaka chairperson Kath Jones, Port Taranaki marketing and administration support Sabine Heynen, and Inglewood Community Foodbank co-ordinator Fred Taylor with the first supply of meat the foodbanks will distribute. Port Taranaki is providing the foodbanks with 30 packets of meat a week for the next 58 weeks. Port Taranaki has teamed up with North Taranaki foodbanks to help support individuals and families in need. Over the next 58 weeks Port Taranaki will donate approximately 1740 packets of meat, provided to Port Taranaki by TLC Meats at wholesale rates, which will be included in the weekly food parcels the foodbanks distribute. In an emailed statement, Port Taranaki head of commercial Ross Dingle said foodbanks did an amazing job supporting those going through tough times.
