TV show handyman John 'Cocksy' Cocks has died after a long battle with cancer. ​A death notice for Cocks described him as "NZ' s much loved builder and handyman" and that he died "peacefully, at his special place in Tairua, with the people who he loved" on February 6. Dearly loved eldest son of Joan and Reg, and much loved brother of Jane and Stuart (Pid)." In 2017, following his cancer diagnosis Cocks married his partner Dana Coote. Cocks, who starred on TV show My House, My Castle, was given a terminal diagnosis early in 2016.
