Compiled by YIMIE YONG, AMALINA AKASHAH and R.ARAVINTHANFIVE shops in Port Klang, including a popular Indian eatery, were destroyed or damaged by fire, Tamil dailies reported. The fire reportedly started in an empty shop at about 10am on Wednesday and quickly spread to neighbouring shops, which includes Meiyappan Restaurant. Firefighters arrived quickly but struggled to bring the fire under control due to the widespread water shortage in Selangor. Chandran Annamalai, 61, said he was given a small area to relocate his farm after a developer bought the land his farm was on. The above articles are compiled from the vernacular newspapers (Bahasa Malaysia, Chinese and Tamil dailies).
