The singer, 30, whose albums include Sunny Side Up, will back the scheme at the University of the West of Scotland from September next year. The successful candidate will join the university’s songwriting course, which has been running for several years. Nutini, from Paisley, will also contribute to songwriting workshops for the students. David Scott, the course leader, said that the scholarship was aligned with Paisley’s bid to become UK City of Culture in 2021.
