TC should be given only after receipt of written request from parents, the CBSE order says. Students will not be required to have 33% marks in the theory examination alone to pass. Students should be given benefit of replacement in respect of NSQF subjects, as given the CBSE in Class 10. Though retest, aka compartment, is usually allowed once for two subjects, schools may now decide on more than one so that candidates get chance to improve. The order will be applicable to Class 9 students of the 2017-18 session.
