Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Tuesday the State Department has amassed more than 20,000 pieces of digital evidence showing the Iranian regime’s abuses of street protesters -- days after calling on Iranians to send videos, photos and information documenting the regime’s recent crackdown on demonstrators. “Last week the regime shut down the internet to prevent the truth about the protests from getting out,” Pompeo said during a press briefing at the State Department.
