Polls close in Singapore after extended voting

Polls have closed for Singapore’s 13th General election, where 93 seats in parlaiment are being contested. This was higher than the turnout at the close of polls in the 2015 General Election, the Elections Department said. Voting hours were extended by two hours to 10:00pm. Progress Singapore Party said the extension was ''irregular.'' Also, the Singapore Democratic Party issued a statement calling on the Elections Department to rescind the decision to extend voting hours to 10:00pm, CNA reported.
