March 8th referendumsTalk around the March 8th referendums hasn't been too widespread, but it will be the big topic ahead of the votes on Friday, March 8th. The family amendment proposes extending the meaning of family beyond one defined by marriage and to include those based on “durable” relationships. The care amendment proposes deleting references to a woman’s roles and duties in the home, and replacing it with a new article that acknowledges family carers. Even one no result would be a huge surprise, as all the polls are suggesting an overwhelming yes vote. All the Government Coalition parties have been campaigning for a yes vote, along with most of the Opposition.
