The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, has accused politicians of destroying the country and its public institutions. The emir made the accusation on Friday at the ninth Triennial National Conference of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria in Abuja. Represented by Dr Bashir Umar of the Ado Bayero University, Kano, the emir accused the political elite of being the cause of communal violence and insecurity in the country. “We have elites in the society that have received, the best of care from the resources of the society. Alhaji Yusuf Adebayo, National Vice-President, Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, appealed to politicians to desist from exploiting fault lines for their political interest.
