Information minister Joe Mucheru, however, affirmed the government’s support for press freedom in the country. As a country and an emerging democracy in Africa, we will not allow ourselves to harass or gag the media,” said Mr Mucheru. Mr Oduor further said that it is high time the media and government pooled resources to formulate policies that promote press freedom and protect journalists from their employers.
