Newsquest has spoken exclusively with Mr Johnson as he discussed his time in politics but also his love of music and writing, something that he is extremely passionate about. "In politics, I enjoyed being in the cabinet and also standing as an MP as I was part of a great constituency. "I was never passionate about politics, my passions were always music, football, and books, I was interested in politics and of course I still am but music was a big passion since I was a small kid." Alan called his move from a love of arts to a career in politics a 'natural progression.' Eventually, I was asked if I'd like to go into politics, I didn't really but I thought it'd be a change of scenery.
