Photo: Louise ScottClutha-Southland MP Hamish Walker had to employ a degree of cunning to get his partner Penny Tipu out of their Warepa house on Wednesday so he could propose. "I had to come up with something good to get Penny out of the house, so I told a little fib. The couple then headed out on to the farm to check the boundary fence and after a short while, Mr Walker dropped to one knee and proposed. The couple went back into the house to share a bottle of wine before Mr Walker continued his "Fitbit steps" for the Diabetes Challenge.
