The Sahraoui Association for the defense of human rights (ASADEDH) sued Polisario separatist chief Brahim Ghali at Spain’s constitutional court for crimes against humanity. The association told Moroccan media that Ghali is involved in torture and summary executions in the camps of Tindouf, where the Algerian government delegated sovereignty to a ruthless separatist militia that trades in the suffering of thousands of Sahrawis held against their will in abhorrent living conditions. Head of the association Messaoud Ramadan said that filing the case with the constitutional court was justified by the gravity of the acts committed and ordered by Ghali, including war crimes. The case came at a context the Polisario has launched a crackdown on disenchanted youth in the camps, suppressing dissent and preventing a head count of the population in the camps to prevent them from being registered as refugees with the right to return to their homeland in the Sahara, under Moroccan sovereignty.
