FOR police corporal Alias Hamdan duty comes first, even if his house at the police quarters in Bandar Baru Ayer Itam was inundated by floodwaters. “It was raining heavily that night but I never thought that my family would be one of the flood victims. I am a policeman and I need to perform my duties first,” said the father of four after receiving aid from acting state police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Roslee Chik at the Bandar Baru Ayer Itam police station on Wednesday. He added that a total of 78 police vehicles were damaged in the flood. “Two police stations — the Bandar Baru Ayer Itam station and Patani Road police headquarters were also flooded and some furniture and cabinets were damaged,” he said.
