According to him recent cases of lawlessness and indiscipline capable of undermining the security of the country requires a police force well equipped and motivated to deal with crime. The President said his government is rolling out series of programs including rehabilitation of all police stations across the country, provision of needed logistics for effective policing. "This year, we are undertaking the rehabilitation of police stations throughout the country to standardize the infrastructure,” he said. President Akufo-Addo added that “our aim is to strengthen the Police, fashioning it into an honest, disciplined, efficient and robust force, whose emphasis will be on proactive and preventive policing, rather than reactive”.
